Easy Cooking Idea: Add Fresh Ingredients to Pre-Made Foods Part 2
In the second part of the easy cooking idea method in which you add fresh ingredients to pre-made foods I’m going to show you how to turn boring pizzas, veggies and rice into yummy concoctions.
Easy Cooking Idea for Store Bought Pizzas:
Nothing says easy like heating up a store bought pizza but if you like some spice in your life you sure as heck aren’t going to find it in a pre-made pizza. That’s why as soon as the pizza comes out of the oven we smother ours in banana pepper rings. Alternately, you can sprinkle your pizza with red pepper flakes for some instant heat and flavor.
Not a big fan of the processed meats they put on pre-made pizzas? Go for a lighter flavor by heating up a plain cheese pizza then sprinkling it with diced tomatoes and fresh basil for an instant Margarita pizza. Yummy!
Easy Cooking Ideas for Frozen Vegetables:
Frozen veggies are an excellent and easy way to get your vitamins but sometimes you just want them to have a little more flavor. Steam green beans then sprinkle with the zest of an orange or lime for an instant flavor boost.
Make frozen carrots a tasty treat that even your kids will love by combining butter and brown sugar in a bowl and microwaving it until they are melted. Pour over the carrots for instantly glazed carrots that everyone will love.
This next one is so simple but makes plain old rice a much more flavorful dish. When making instant rice substitute chicken stock for the water to make a savory rice dish without any extra effort. Throw in some frozen peas and/or diced red bell peppers during the last two minutes to make it even fancier.
Sure, making fresh meals from scratch is nice but when you don’t have the time you can compromise with these easy cooking ideas that elevate boring pre-made dishes to something worthy of sitting on your plate.
